11th March 2021 will be observed as Mahashivratri 2021 by the Shiva bhakts devotees. As per the South Indian panchang, Krishnapaksha Chaturdashi of Phalguna is observed as Mahashivratri. Devotees keep fast, perform Shiv Puja, some devotees also perform chaar prahar puja of Lord Shiva, and observe jagran (staying awake for the whole night) as a spiritual or religious practice.
Pongal is a festival of harvest, also it is celebrated to thank and welcome the Sun God for assisting in developing crops. The flowers hold a significant role in Pongal. As the flower is an element that connects us directly with the earth element. As per our Vedas too, flowers are used to please God and to seek their blessings. Flowers are also offered to show devotion and dedication towards God.
